The End

It has finally come down to the end and there is not much left to say except, WE DID IT!!!! and it feels like the greatest feeling in the world.  I am happy with my results but I definitely want to continue working out because I would love to get better results!  I am so glad it is finished with, but I will strive for better results.  Thank you to all my followers and I hope that some of you will try this challenge later on because it feels great once you have completed it.  Good luck to all that try!

One Step At a Time

"No matter how long it takes, If you keep moving, One step at a time,You will reach the finish line..."

Take a minute to think about this quote. . .

This challenge has been 30 days long (almost there!) and if we would just take it one step at a time we will and basically have reached the finish line.  I wish I could have stumbled across this quote way in the beginning because there have been plenty of days when I am taking a break from the workout and I just can't help but think about the next day when I have to pick back up and do the workout again.  If I could have just stayed focus on each day as it came I think I would have enjoyed this experience way more than I did.  Don't get me wrong I am proud of where I have come, but maybe I could be even farther if I wouldn't have dread the days of my work outs. :(

struggle

I wouldn't say this challenge has been a easy one, there are been many times I have just wanted to give up, but there was something inside of me that pushed me to the finish.  With one more day of workout tomorrow I am determined to make sure I push myself harder than any other day because after tomorrow I get to rest!  I have had times where I wanted to give up but my audience really was my motivation to finish.  I hope if someone would like to try this challenge they have something that will motivate them to complete the whole thing without giving up!

Good luck!

Update

How is everyone doing?? We are coming down to the final days and I hope everyone has stuck to this challenge that has wanted to.  This past week I have started to even add a little diet to my daily activity.  I have been watching what I eat and trying to get the best results for these last 5 days!  I have been doing well overall and only missed one day of working out over spring break.  I am proud of what I have done thus far and I hope everyone else can say the same.

I would love to hear if someone has tried this challenge with me and hear about your experience!

Make dreams come true!

"Some people dream of success... while others wake up and work hard at it.  ~Author Unknown"

Don't be that person that just dreams of success; I am not only talking about what you look like and how hard you have been working at this ab workout, but I'm talking more of a life lesson.  Don't regret not getting out there and trying some of those things you would call dreams.  I know one of my dreams is/was to make an impact on people's lives around me and I have done that in multiple ways through basketball.  Whether it be on the court with children watching and looking up to me or whether it be at my "job" where I teach children the fundamentals of basketball while also teaching them life lessons by interviewing people that they look up to (college coaches, college players, NBA coaches, and NBA players).  Now I put JOB in quotations because I don't think of it as a job; I think of it as me changing lives and it's the best feeling in the world.  So don't hold back, do the things you love to do, and try those that you have always dream of doing.

movement

"Movement is a medicine for creating change in a person's physical, emotional, and mental states."  ~Carol Welch

This quote I think was a perfect definition of physical movement and not only exercise.  Doing exercise can be an example of movement, but I saw another quote that said something to the effect of if the refrigerator and the TV weren't so far apart we wouldn't get any type of exercise each day.  This is kind of a funny quote, but having even simple movements can help with the overall fitness of a person.  Keep this in mind!

Difference between pain and soreness

There have been problems with people not knowing the difference between pain and being sore.  You need to make sure you can distinguish the difference between the two.  Pain is something to where you should stop exercise and get looked at if it is that serious, while soreness is when you should continue to push yourself because it is a feeling of gaining muscle!  Hopefully everyone is feeling the soreness over pain!

Would anyone like to know my weight?!

I think I have really made good progress so far with this challenge.  Up to this date I am seeing slight results, and if I wasn't so self-conscience I would post a picture of before and after results, but I don't think I have that type of guts.  I will tell you that before this challenge I weighed 145 pounds and I currently weigh 132, so through this process I have lost weight and I think I would be way more successful if I had paid more attention to my food habits as well, but there's only so much you can do!  I encourage everyone to keep pushing and I promise results will come!

Another one bites the dust

I have to be honest. . . yesterday I made that post about not giving up because I have slipped up myself.  On Wednesday I skipped my workout and I always say that excuses equals no progress, but my excuse for this one is I had a huge Econ midterm yesterday and was just completely stressing out about it.  I was trying to get help all day and when I wasn't studying I just trying to get some rest so I could wake back up and study some more.  Like I said though this is no excuse and I don't feel good about skipping a workout. I feel like I've let not only myself down, but also my audience, so I apologize and promise to push it out to the very end with no lapses.

Feel like giving up?

The reason why people give up so fast is because they tend to look at how far they still have to go, instead of how far they have gotten.  Make sure to not get discouraged during this challenge because a "challenge" is exactly what it is.  There are only a few things in life that are truly hard.  Dealing with a death in the family or conquering your biggest fear are two things that are actually hard.  This challenge may be very tough on your body if it has never been worked in this way, but just trust me that it will all be worth it in the end!  You are more than half way. . . .DON'T GIVE UP!

Slacking. . .

Believe it or not we all have our times when we have lapses and over break I had one of mine.  I got all caught up with seeing my family and being home that I thought since I attended a TRX class (which is a suspension working class) that I just skipped my ab workout for the day and thought it would be fine.  I did do some ab-related exercises in this class, but I still did not complete my ab workout for that day.  I wouldn't suggest making the mistake I did, but if you do then make sure there are some ab related movements in the workout so that you can still get some results. Below I have attached a short video of an example of the TRX class and there is a specified class called the "Body Blast" (which is the one I tried) if anyone is interested in participating in a class like that.
